Greenhouses
How would people get food on the moon? Sciences have been trying to figure out that question. One way we could grow food is using a collapsible Green House. People would use this collapsable Green house to grow healthy and fresh food. Some scientists at University of Arizona's Controlled Environment Agriculture Center (CEAC) are experimenting growing food without soil. The scientists are trying to grow food such as potatoes, peanuts, tomatoes, peppers and other vegetables in just water. Growing vegetables in just water is called hydroponic growth. CEAC is building a prototype of a lunar greenhouse. The greenhouse would be different from most greenhouses, this one would be underground to protect the plants from harmful radiation. The greenhouse model can collapse down to a 4 foot wide disk. Letting the greenhouse collapse make it easier to store in the way up to the moon. It would also store water-cooled sodium vapor lamps
